Digital Domain is proud to show off the magnificent CG water work, and fully CG environments created for the third season of Starz high seas Pirate drama ‘Black Sails.’ As it follows the most feared pirate of the day, Captain Flint (Toby Stephens), taking place twenty years prior to Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic ‘Treasure Island.’ DD developed an entirely new water system, unlike anything we’ve done before to execute a gale strength storm, to allow the desired art direction between the ships and the waves. DD also created 10 new ships for this season, dozens of pirate digi-doubles, and a phenomenal under water sequence. We hope you enjoy viewing as much as we enjoyed creating it!
