9 May 2017, Hong Kong — Digital Domain Holdings Limited (the “Company” or “Digital Domain”; stock code: 547), one of the largest and most innovative providers of visual effects and virtual reality (VR) experiences, today held the premiere for its first-ever Teresa Teng “virtual human” show, “Today We Meet Again • The Virtual Teresa Teng Music Magical Show.” The event took place on the fifth floor of Syntrend Clapper Studio in Taipei. Many popular artists attended the premiere and enjoyed the unique cutting-edge 5D entertainment experience, including the “Godfather of Entertainment” Wang Wei-Chung, Aaron Yan Ya-lun, Mickey Huang Tzu-chiao, Shatina Chen, Z-Chen, Sun Hua-Chen and Michelle Vickie.
The show integrates extraordinary technology with world-class production. The songs, stage design, costumes, choreography, multimedia and lighting were all designed and produced by a team comprising winners of the “Golden Melody Awards,” “Golden Bell Awards” and international stage design awards. Grammy award-winning violinist Jamii Szmadzinski, a master of incidental music, has arranged Teresa Teng’s famous songs in an electronic music style to give audiences a fresh musical encounter with the legendary diva.
Apart from rearranging the songs, the show’s production team created a vast multimedia show with incredible visuals, including lighting effects, fantasy-style costumes with a retro look, dances and circus performances, which all combine to let audiences feel as though they were travelling through time. The show also gives audiences multi-sensory experiences, incorporating the senses of touch and taste to the visual and audio experience.
Using Digital Domain’s “real-time tracking” technology, Teresa Teng’s hologram moves and reacts in a realistic manner, with a variety of emotions shown throughout this world-class show.
Mr. Daniel Seah, executive director and chief executive officer of Digital Domain, said, “We've worked on the Teresa Teng project since 2013, when we were able to first meet her again through our hologram technology. Since then, our teams have worked very hard to develop new technology and create a live experience that brings this super star to life. Our goal is to discover new stories with this incredible diva. After three years of work, we are proud to unveil our first-ever Teresa Teng ‘virtual human’ show. We hope all of her fans love it. As Digital Domain enters a new era of entertainment experiences, we will continue to explore and develop more advanced technology.”
