Digital Domain’s team led by VFX Supervisor Nikos Kalaitzidis delivered four sequences for Disney’s “A Wrinkle In Time.” The team was responsible for creating the transition between the wheat field to redwood/sequoia forest, the ‘House of Cards,’ the IT layer and the wondrous flower world. For the flower world sequence, the team was tasked to make the flowers emote with transitioning colors and movement. The “House of Cards” sequence required a transition from a suburban neighborhood to a beach environment with buildings that folded in on themselves transitioning to a new beach environment. With 79 shots total, the work took four months to complete.
