Digital Domain created 600 + effects shots for this film, which earned an Academy Award nomination for its visual effects. The highlight is Sonny, a completely CG creation based on motion-capture data of Alan Tudyk’s on-set performance. In addition to the character animation of Sonny and other robots, entire environments were created and sets extended with the help of computer-generated imagery.
