Digital Domain 3.0, led by VFX supervisor James Atkinson, created this reverse time-lapse piece for Liberty Group Limited with production company Velocity Films and Agency FoxP2. Viewers see the glittering jewel of commerce known as Sandton City, South Africa in present-day and follow it backwards over 35 years as it is deconstructed to its visionary beginnings as an unassuming suburb of Johannesburg. The piece is completely CG except for the live-action shot of the area's creators and their classic car at the very end.
