THE SYNOPSIS
Digital Domain was involved in the earliest stages of Director Chris Columbus’ teenage demi-god adventure. After designing the look of the creature called ‘The Fury’ during pre-production, Digital Domain became the lead visual effects studio led by Visual Effects Supervisor Kelly Port. Digital Domain animated the Hydra – a CG five-headed, fire-breathing, slime-dripping beast that morphs into a 10-headed beast. For some particularly gnarly CG water scenes, Digital Domain deployed its AMPAS Sci-Tech Award-winning FSIM fluid simulation system, and its considerable artistic strength for impressive results.
